Obituary

Glen R. Gee, Sr.

October 8, 1919 ~ July 10, 2020 (age 100)

Glen R. Gee, Sr., age 100, of East Jordan died on Friday, July 10, 2020, in Petoskey.

  He was born on October 8, 1919, in East Jordan, the son of Ray and Nora (Hayes) Gee.  He grew up in East Jordan and graduated from East Jordan High School in 1940.

  On September 28, 1940, in East Jordan, he married Lillian Bricker.

  Glen served in the United States Army during World War II.  He had worked 43 years for East Jordan Iron Work, now known as EJ, USA, in East Jordan and retired in 1986.    He was a life member of the American Legion Post #227 in East Jordan.

  Glen was a hard worker his whole life and enjoyed watching all sports.  He loved playing ball with his kids.

  He is survived by his wife of 79 years, Lillian Gee of East Jordan; nine children, Jack Gee of Las Vegas, Nevada, Norma Patton of East Jordan, Carolyn McPherson of Traverse City, Glen (Gabriela) Gee Jr. of East Jordan, Eileen (Kenneth) Brady of Holland,  Gerald (Lori) Gee of East Jordan, Debbie Gee of Boyne Falls, Joyce (Bill) Dunson of East Jordan and Tracy Gee of East Jordan; twenty-one grandchildren; thirty-six great grandchildren; fourteen great great grandchildren; as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; two grandsons, George Patton, Jr. and Jerry L. Patton; four sisters, Fern Bennett, Ilean Gee, Beulah Gee and Evelyn Neumann; and two brothers, Earl Gee and Vale Gee.

  A private funeral will be held at the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc. in East Jordan with interment at Sunset Hill Cemetery, East Jordan.

  Visitation will be held on Monday, July 13, 2020, from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. at the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc. in East Jordan.  Memorial contributions may be directed to the East Jordan Ambulance Association, PO Box 223, East Jordan MI 49727.
