     Charles Wood, 79, of Boyne City, died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2006, at his home.  The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec 15, at the Penzien Funeral Homes Ine., in East Jordan.  The Rev. Nancy Rohde of the First Presbyterian Church in East Jordan will officiate.  Interment will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery in East Jordan.

     Charles was born on Aug. 24, 1927, in East Jordan, the son of Edwin and Angeline (Magers)
Wood.  On Nov. 1, 1969, in Manistique Mich., he married Judy Snyder Crick.  Charles started working for Mount Clemens in East Jordan in 1957 and worked for 32 years.  He retired in 1989 from Wicks Mechanical Component Division, formerly known as Mount Clemens.

     He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and camping.  His main passion was watching his grandchildren playing sports.

     Charles is survived by his wife, Judy Wood, of Boyne City; five children, Bill (Wendy) Crick of
East Jordan, Michael (Pam) Crick of Hancock, Dan (Ann) Crick of East Jordan, Debbie (Erick) Bennett of East Jordan and Gayle (Ernie) Roberts of East Jordan; and 14 grandchildren, Hailey
Crick, Emily Crick, Wyatt Crick, Janae (Jono) Scott, Amy Crick, Jessica Crick, Cassandra Crick,
Robbie Crick, Jennifer Roberts, Andrew Roberts, Erika Bennett, Jeremy Roberts, Sarah Roberts and Laura Roberts.

     He was preceded in death by his parents: one grandson, Jason Charles Roberts; and three brothers, Jack, Bob and William Wood.

     The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, at the Penzien Funeral Homes Inc., in East Jordan.
