Loie S. Shelson, 91
Lois S. Shelson, 91, of East Jordan, died Sunday, March 22, 1998, at Havencrest Adult Foster Care Home in East Jordan.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, March 26, at the Paullin-Penzien Funeral Home in East Jordan. Forrest Locke, an elder of Jehovah's Witnesses, will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery, East Jordan.
Loie was born on June 6, 1906, in Pennsylvania, the daughter of Joseph and Charlotte (Stewart) Posson.
On Jan. 1, 1930, in Newark, N.J., she married Mark H. Shelson. They lived in Detroit, where Loie worked as a registered nurse. They moved to East Jordan in 1965, where they had been vacationing for years.
Loie was an active member of the East Jordan Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses and lovingly taught the Bible to anyone interesed. She enjoyed the water, boating, fishing and needlework.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews. Loie was preceded in death by her husband, Mark H. Shelson, on Feb. 6, 1987; four sisters, Lillian Stewart, Mary Florio, Ruth Resk and Maybelle Smith; and by one brother, Paul Lawrence.
Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, at the Paullin-Penzien Funeral Home in East Jordan.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Charlevoix County Hospice.
