Mary J. Lord, 83, of East Jordan, died Oct. 27, 1988, at Lykes Memorial Hospital, Brooksville,
Fla.
Funeral was today (Monday) at the Paullin Funeral Home, East Jordan. The Rev. Merlin K. Delo
of the East Jordan United Methodist Church officiated and burial was in Sunset Hill Cemetery, East Jordan.
The former Mary J. Graham was born May 22, 1905, in Flynn Township, Sanilac County, the
daughter of Archibald and Alida (Arrand) Graham.
On Dec. 22, 1922, she married Clarence Lord in Sanilac County. The couple had resided in East
Jordan since 1934. They were co-owners and operators of the Jordan Heating and Refrigeration Co. with Glenn and Helen Champau for many years.
Mr. Lord preceded her in death on Oct. 25, 1978.
Mrs. Lord enjoyed quilting, flower gardening and antiques.
She was a member of the East Jordan United Methodist Church and was active in the local 4-H
program and the Order of Eastern Star.
The couple raised four children. A daughter, Mrs. Tyson (Maxine) Kemp died in 1976.
Mrs. Lord is survived by: a son Edward J. Lord of Dallas, Texas; two daughters, Mrs. Margaret
Schaper of Schaumburg, Ill. and Mrs. David (Mary) Greene of Auburn, Mich.; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; two brothers, A.D. Graham of East Jordan and Martin Graham of Brown City; two sisters, Mrs. Grace Miller of East Jordan and Miss Kathleen Graham of Brown City.
The family suggests anyone wishing to honor the memory of Mrs. Lord may do so by contribut-
ing in her name to the East Jordan United Methodist Church building fund, East Jordan.
