Preston L. Kenny

     Preston L. (Bud) Kenny, 69, of East Jordan, died July 1, 1984, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Pontiac.

     Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 3, at the Oak Chapel of Vanderwall Funeral Home. The Rev. Dale Turner of Marshall will officiate.  Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.                             '

     Mr. Kenny was born April 20, 1915, in East Jordan. He attended school and graduated from East Jordan High School.

     Mr. Kenney resided in East Jordan until 1932 when he moved to Pontiac and was emploged as an engineer at General Motors-Truck and Coach plant for 34 1/2 years.

     He married the former Ruth A. Cook on June 4, 1939, in Washington, D.C. The couple resided in Pontiac and, after Mr. Kenney retired in 1974, they moved to East Jordan.  Mrs. Kenny preceded him in death April 10, 1979.

     Mr. Kenny was a former East Jordan councilman; a member of the Eagles Lodge in Boyne City; the East Jordan Trail Blazers and the East Jordan Lions Club.

     His hobbies were hunting, fishing and snowmobiling.

     Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Michael (Patricia) Applegate of Clarkston; two sons, Jon M. of East Jordan and Robert J. of Drayton Plains; four grandchildren.

     The family suggests memorials to the Charlevoix County Unit of the American Cancer Society. Envelopes for that purpose are available at Vanderwall Funeral Home where friends may call until 9 p.m. today.
