Zola Kemp, 93
Zola Kemp, 93, of East Jordan, died July 10, 1995, at Grandvue Medical Care Facility in East Jordan.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, July 13, at the Paullin Funeral, Home in East Jordan. Pastor
Harold E. Kruse of the Ironton Community Church will officiate, with interment following at Sunset
Hill Cemetery, East Jordan.
Mrs. Kemp was born Dec. 17, 1901, in Ellsworth, the daughter of Alfred and Anna Belle (Peebles) Johnstone.
On Nov. 2, 1930, in East Jordan, she married Walter William Kemp. He died on May 27, 1978.
Mrs. Kemp grew up in Ellsworth and lived most of her life in East Jordan. She was a
member of the Ironton Community Church and a life member of the Peninsula Grange. She enjoyed crocheting and reading.
Survivors include six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Pearl Sinclair of East Jordan, and Emily Coward of Naples, Fla. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Carrie Rubingh, and by two brothers, Klon Johnstone and Robert Johnstone.
The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. today, July 12, at the Paullin Funeral Home in East Jordan. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Ironton Community Church.
