Ruby W. Iversen, 84
Ruby W. Iversen, 84, of East Jordan, died March 6, 1993, at Grandvue Medical Care Facility in East Jordan
Funeral was held at 11 am. today March 9, at Evangelical Lutheran Church, 301 Nichols St., East Jordan. The Rev. Richard R. Vonesh of Evangelical Lutheran Church officiated. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery, East Jordan.
She was born April 25, 1908, in Arcadia, the daughter of Jacob and Hulda (Carls) Worch.
Mrs. Iversen taught elementary school at Glover Lake School near Lake Ann in 1926-1929.
On May 22; 1929; she married Ivar Iversen in Arcadia. After their marriage, the couple resided in Frankfort until 1952 when they moved to East Jordan. In 1952-1972, Mr. and Mrs. Iversen owned and operated Cal's Bar and Restaurant. Mr. Iversen preceded her in death on March 12, 1991.
Mrs. Iversen enjoyed bowling, dancing, music, gardening, cards, crocheting and sewing.
She was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church where she was very active.
Survivors include one son, Edward L Iversen and his wife Veronica of Troy; one daughter, Wanda E. Ford and her husband Charles of East Jordan; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Lucille Reynolds of Alberta; two sister-in-laws, Emma Hibbard of East Jordan, and Lydia Worch of Arcadia; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Worch.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Grandvue Medical Care Facility or to the Alzheirmer's Association. Envelopes for memorial contributions are available at the Paullin Funeral Home in East Jordan where visitation was held Monday.
