Obituary

     Clarabelle Weiler, 94, of East Jordan, died on Saturday, July 29, 2006, at Grandvue Medical Care Facility in East Jordan.

     The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2, at the Penzien Funeral Homes Inc., in East Jordan. The Rev. D. Michael Maurer of the East Jordan United Methodist Church will
officiate. Interment will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery in East Jordan.

     She was born on July 17, 1912, in Boyne City, the daughter of Carl N. Sr. and Grace (Hunt)
Grutsch.

     She married Vail Shepard Sr., on Aug. 1, 1933. He preceded her in death in 1975. She then married Joseph Weiler on Feb. 11, 1978. He died in 1995.

     Clarabelle had worked many years as a clerk at Glen's Market in East Jordan.

     She was a member of the Peninsula Grange No. 706 and the East Jordan United Methodist
Church.

     She enjoyed gardening and word search puzzles.

     She is survived by three children, Sue Stallard of East Jordan, Carla (Dale) Bolser of East Jordan and Vail (Wendy) Shepard Jr. of East Jordan; two stepchildren, Wayne (Laurie) Weiler of Roscommon and Bill (Hattie) Weiler of Rose City; one daughter-in-law, Joann Weiler, of East Jordan; eight grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Carl (Doris) Grutsch Jr. and Henry (Marion) Grutsch, both of East Jordan; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Larry T. Grutsch, one stepson, Joseph C. Weiler, and one stepdaughter, Joan Gowan.

     The family will receive friends 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, at the Penzien Funeral
Homes Inc., in East Jordan.

     Memorials may be given to East Jordan United Methodist Church or Grandvue Medical
Care Facility.
