Obituary

Elizabeth Eaton, 93

     Elizabeth Eaton, 93, of East Jordan, died Friday, June 13, 2008.

     She was born on May 7, 1915, in Boyne City, the daughter of Leonard and Dorathea
Leupp Diehm. She grew up in Boyne City and graduated from Boyne City High School
and then attended business school for two years. On Nov. 5, 1944 in Boyne City, she married
Irving Coyle "Mike" Eaton. They made their home in East Jordan and raised four children. Irving
Coyle "Mike" Eaton preceded her in death on July 2, 1994.

     Elizabeth was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church and the South Arm Home Extension Club. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and flowers. Elizabeth loved her church and her family.

     She is survived by four children, Merry Ann (Robert) Traylor of Gaylord, John M. (Bonnie)Eaton of Bay City, Dora Elizabeth (Paul) Kotwicki of Corunna and Jacob L. Eaton of Traverse City; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one brother, Jacob W. (Harriet) Diehm of Grand Rapids; one sister, Marion Packer of Phoenix, Arizona; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Pauline Pullin.

     Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17, at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in East Jordan. The Rev. Kurt Jensen will officiate. Interment will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery, East Jordan.

    The family will receive friends from 3-7 p.m. today, Monday, June 16, at the Penzien Funeral
