Teddy R. Morgan, 83
Funeral for Teddy R. Morgan, 83, a former East Jordan resident, was held today at the Oak Chapel of the Vanderwall Funeral Home, East Jordan. The Rev. Milton Walls of the Boyne City Presbyterian Church officiated. Burial was in Sunset Hill Cemetery, East Jordan.
Mr. Morgan died Nov. 9, 1985, at the Redford home of his daughter, Mrs. Morgainia Hayes.
Mr. Morgan was born Oct. 2, 1902, in Sonora, Ky. On June 30, 1925, he married former Jessie Anora Mobley at Panora, Iowa.
The couple moved to Detroit in 1926 where Mr. Morgan was employed as a foreman with the streets and sidewalk department for the city of Detroit, retiring in 1965.
In 1970, the couple moved to East Jordan. Mrs. Morgan preceded him in death May 10, 1978.
Mr. Morgan was an avid fisherman and enjoyed reading. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Detroit.
He is survived by: two daughters, Mrs. Morgainia Hayes of Redford and Mrs. Alfred (Margaret) Salmeto of Union Lake; five grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to the Charlevoix County Hospice. Envelopes for that purpose are available at the funeral home.
