Obituary

Mildred M. Skeel, 68

Mildred "Millie" M. Skeel, 68, of East Jordan, died April 4, 1993, at Charlevoix area Hospital.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 7, at the Paullin Funeral  Home in East Jordan.  The Rev. Merlin K Delo of the United Methodist Church will officate and burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery, East Jordan.

She was born June 19, 1924 in Grayling, the daughter of Charles Thomas and Hilda B. (Baker) Green.  She grew up in East Jordan, lived in  Muskegon from 1937 to 1966, and then returned to East Jordan.              

On April 1, 1967, she married Gene H. Skeel in Boyne City.  He preceded her in death on April 3, 1978.   

Mrs. Skeel enjoyed fishing, motorcycle riding, mushroom hunting and socializing.

Survivors include two sisters, Cecelia "Peggy" Loper and her husband John of Oak Hill, Fla, and VIrginia P. Strong of East Jordan; several nieces and nephews; and one sister-in-law, Darline Green.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Clyde P. Green in 1984, and Clifford P. Green in 1985.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, or to the family.  Envelopes for memorial contributions are available at the Paullin Funeral Home in East Jordan where visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. today, April 5, and 1-9 p.m. Tuesday, April 6.
